Exports: CSV, Excel and Google Sheets
Every report can be exported exactly as it is filtered on screen, as a CSV file, an Excel (XLSX) file, or a new Google Sheet in your own Drive.

Who can export
- You need the
reports.exportandreports.viewpermissions. - Export reports to Excel or CSV must be enabled (it is on by default at organisation level and can be switched off per workspace).
- A Google Sheet export also needs Import from Google Sheets enabled and your own connected Google account (see Google).
Export a report
- Open the report and set its filters.
- Select Export.
- Choose the format (Excel (.xlsx), CSV or New Google Sheet), and the columns to keep (all by default). The dialog repeats the filters and scope so you know what you are exporting.
- For Google Sheet the dialog names the Drive it lands in and asks you to tick that it is an external copy nothing in AEVU can recall.
- Start the export. It runs in the background; when finished choose Download (files) or open the sheet's link. Recent exports (under Reports) lists your own.
What is in the file
- An About block (scope, data date, range, currency, notes, headline figures) and then the table. In XLSX the table is on a Report tab and the About block on an About tab. CSV is UTF-8 with a byte-order mark. A Google Sheet has the same two tabs.
- Values only: no formulas. Numbers round to two decimals, dates are
yyyy-MM-dd, a withheld cost reads "n/a". - Text that could be read as a formula by a spreadsheet is neutralised.
Limits and retention
- Up to 50,000 rows by default. More than that is refused with the count rather than cut short.
- At most 3 exports queued or running per person per workspace, and 20 export requests per 10 minutes.
- Files are kept for 7 days by default, then deleted; the history line (who, how many rows, when) stays.
- Exports belong to you alone. Colleagues cannot see or download your file; it is a snapshot of what you could see when you asked.
A Google Sheet export never touches your existing sheets
It always creates a new spreadsheet. Revoking your Google connection cancels your queued Google exports.
Common problems
| Code | Meaning |
|---|---|
export.tooManyLive | You already have 3 running; wait for one to finish |
export.tooManyRows | Narrow the filters |
export.reportFailed | The report refused; try again or adjust filters |
integration.reconnectRequired | Reconnect Google and retry |
| Export disabled | The capability or your permission is off; ask a workspace admin |
